What we found today: August 15th, 2012
by Chad Sansing
As community and ideas gather for the Democratizing Composition blog and resource site, I wanted to offer up an example of what a “What we found/made today” post might look like.
If you love finding, gathering, and/or socially curating amazing examples of new and old media composition and student work, and if this kind of post makes sense to you, please consider joining the blog as a contributor-it would be fantastic to have several folks a day sharing out inspirational examples of what’s possible to design and compose with youth and in schools-where radical change is needed in how we frame and teach composition.
Please leave feedback below about this kind of post, its usefulness, and ways we can shape such posts going forward. If you see something you think we should blog here, let us know!
Sam J Miller shares out “Clarion 2012: Every Brilliant Piece of Writing Advice*” (advice to and from adults writing science fiction).
A trio of youth coder initiatives found through @taraconley, @mediamakechange, and “Part II To Queer Code: Ann Daramola on Learning and Teaching Computer Programming”: Black Girls Code, CodeNow, and Girls Who Code.
A graphic novel/comic book tracing and critical analysis project from Mark Sample that I included on the Share page, as well.
